I shook the entire ride up the elevator. I have absolutley NO idea what to expect when I step of this elevator. To tell you the truth, I forgot what it’s like to actually have a family. Sad, isn’t it?
The elevator ride didn’t last long enough. As Hanna and I stepped off the elevator, I saw a women with blonde flowing hair pacing back and forth. I stopped in my tracks. Was it…? Could it be…? I mean I know she’s here and all, but is that really her?
“Mom…” I whispered as I looked at the women who appeared to be my mother. MY MOTHER!
“Hmm?” she said as she faced me. “Amy?!?!?!”
I felt me heart skip a beat. She remembered me! Well, of course, since she did give birth to me! But after everything I had out her through, she chose to remember me.
She ran up and give me the biggest hug EVER. At first I didn’t know what to do, since the only hugs I get anymore are from Nick. I realized I should probably hug back, so she didn’t get the wrong idea. It felt nice to beable to hug another person that actually caresabout you.
“But how… why?” was all she was able to say. Before I could say anything, Hanna stepped in.
“She was a the police station an-” she stopped when she saw my mother’s face. It brought back bad memories.
“No, she didn’t do anything. She was driving my car and a light was out, and since it wasn’t her car, she didn’t know where all my insurance crap is.” my mother looked relieved and I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Anyways she found the newspaper with the article on it sitting on one of the officer’s desk. I drove her here as soon as I could.”
“But why did you want to come? I thought we were horrible to you,” my mom sighed as we looked from me to Hanna.
“Because I regret everything that ever happened between us. I haven’t had a life since I left. Besides Hanna, Sarah, and the Jonas’, I’ve had nothing. I know you’re in no postion to forgive me, but coming here just to see you and dad is better than being stuck with Beth forever.”
Before anyone could say anything else, she grabbed mine and Hanna’s hand’s and dragged us to my dad’s room.
“Fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers, be good to your daughters too”
