No offence to women please, but i cannot believe how much cheaper womens car insurance is. I mean not every lad out there is a boy racer, and Im sure there are some manic women out on the streets more likely to claim than men.
I think its a very prejudice claim, insurers make, saying that women are safer drivers. I for one, dont intend on killing myself in the too near future by wreckless driving, so i dont see why I should be expected to pay more because of other stupid people.!!!!!

I’m a claims adjuster and I have over 125 open files for accident over the last 2 years. The bulk of my files involve men who are at fault for accidents, then old people (who are not the at fault party) and teenagers. Surprisingly the teenagers are all girls. Now this is just my case load.
In general, men take more risks than women in all areas of life to include their driving habits. While I see more women on cell phones then I do men, I see more men driving eratically then women. When I say eratic, I mean guys who are stopped in traffic and because they’re so impatient they drive over sidewalks, on the wrong side of the road, or through suicide lanes, just to get to where they are going. I have yet to see a woman do that. I see more men run red lights and tailgate then women. I see more men speeding then women. Women by nature are more cautious in their activities and do not take the same level of risk, or chance, as men do.

Licensed at 19/Now 25yrs old. I have a clean record but can’t afford full coverage because it’s in the thousands. Is it pricey for me because I’m Asian? I don’t get it, I hear about people being fully covered for a whole year for less than $1200, but I only have basic coverage and I’m paying $1100 per year. Can anyone help?
Insurance Premiums are calculated in different ways. Most companies use among other things, your zip code and credit rating. No, you being Asian has nothing to do with your premium. It could be that the area you live in has a high number of accidents and thefts. Most likely after you turn 26 you should see a drop in your premium. Ask your agent to explain how your policy was rated. Ask, if you moved to a different zip code would your premium go down.

Hey Ricky, I pay roughly $1200 a year. I’m married, in my 30’s and drive a pickup truck. As others have stated it really does vary quite a lot by age, gender, location, and type of car. The best advice I can give you is to get a bunch of quotes from insurance companies. What company or what car is the cheapest to insure? We are looking at buying a car, but since my hubby is only 20 the insurance is through the roof. (Can’t seem to find a quote less that £2000)

i recently tried confused.com and got a few cheap quotes the best being with ecar however i did look for reviews on this company and out of 31 only a few were good have you tried 4youngdrivers.co.uk they seemed reasonable EDIT: i should add i’m 29 but currently only hold a provisional liscence and ecar quoted me £220 on a vauxhall corsa that was 3rd party fire &theft though and there are no extras in with that but it may be worth a look
